Twenty years ago our home opened in the heart of Burlington offering in-hospice care to people in the last stages of their lives. Today Carpenter Hospice remains a place where residents and their loved ones can spend their final days as they wish, in a comfortable and peaceful environment surrounded by nature. It is staffed by an incredibly dedicated team of healthcare professionals and community volunteers whose sole focus is to provide compassionate, quality care to meet residents’ needs.
Making Moments Matter is an emphasis on living one’s final days, not dying. This phrase helps guide our services and compassionate care through out all of our programs. We want to be there for you and your family and an important community palliative care resource for Burlington’s almost 200,000 residents.
Our now 11-bedroom hospice has welcomed over 3,000 people who have given our staff and volunteers the privilege of being a part of their end-of-life journey. We also support people dealing with grief or a life-limiting illness by offering community-based services such as bereavement and supportive care, and a wellness program offering music therapy, yoga, massage and more.
All of our programs and services are offered at no cost.
Carpenter Hospice is supported by more than 150 volunteers and by the tremendous support of the Burlington community.
